EDGE like any other review site is just another subjective opinion on games. Whoever the reviewer(s) are obvious likes some sorts of games, and dislikes other types.
Another reason why I like IGN.
Look at the gamerankings scores for Metroid, Bioshock & Halo 3: (approx) 91%, 95%, 95%.
IGN scores: 9.5, 9.7, 9.5
EDGE scores: 7, 7(?), 10
(if multiplayer is so important - how did SM64, Zelda, Gran Turismo all get a 10?)
(PS - the lowest score Metroid has received so far - from around 40 publications - is 80%...)
