Well, slowmo made a very good point earlier about companies trying to maximize revenue, but there are other reasons.
-One arguable advantage that the PS3 has over the 360 is that the 360 needs to swap discs, and I think Sony would go the route of compression before they gave up that advantage.
-Speaking of compression, has any PS3 game used it yet? Will any need to? If a game goes over the space limit, wouldn't the smarter move be to compress the data rather than pay a large sum of money in production costs for a second disc?
