Just because the PS1 and PS2 lasted 10 years doesn't mean they were future-proofed. I mean, did the amazing sales of the PS2 stop Sony from coming out with a PS3? No. So they can shut up. They'll have a PS4 in the 8th generation, and it'll launch right when everybody else does. He's just trying to say "we'll support it for a long time," but that will only happen if the PS3 is the market leader, which it won't be. They were making Famicoms for over 20 years in Japan. I'd like to see any Sony console do that. The market leader always lasts an extra generation due to the lower price and huuuuge diverse game library. Without a 16-hit combo of miracles, the PS3 won't have either of those any time soon.
