PlayStation still exists only because of Final Fantasy VII.

Let put it this way. FF7 was one of the reasons that PS1 got all thoe sweet exclusives that made it take off like it did.

Sony offerd devs/publishers the best deal thats why it got all those sweet exclusives. 

Another REALITY based reason for all those sweet exclusives is that Saturn was too complex and porting was hard as fuck while due to cartriges porting to n64 was not much of a option.

Sony gave the indusrty a way away from Segas crazy hardware and Nintendos greed.
