@WoW, that's a gross generalization of Nintendo fans. M-rated titles have nothing to do with maturity. They are ratings based on content deem inappropriate for children. Is watching porn and horror films all day mature? I don't think enjoying the occasional gore-fest makes me unable to debate trolls who think all M rated games are good and anything less is for babies. They might as well make Imagine: Murderz for the HD consoles.

Just take a look at this thread and you will notice that generalization has some grounds for it. Is watching cartoons and playing mario kart all day any more mature?

Do you mind those trolls who think anything violent is immature? Of course not.

I don't see what cartoons or Mario Kart have to do with my argument.

I also didn't say anything violent is immature, and I'd disagree with people who think so as well.  I haven't seen anybody here say that.  Somebody pointed out that "violence for the sake of violence" is juvenile.  That's very different from all violence.

Violent games have so far not reached the level of maturity that violent films, books, and music have.  Games are still a young medium, so it will happen eventually, but the concept that games can be mature by including sex minigames or the highest body count is ridiculous.  Can you tell the difference between movies like Commando and Aliens and movies like A Clockwork Orange and Natural Born Killers?  I own and enjoy all 4 of those movies, but I can tell which 2 are mature and which 2 are just awesome fun.

I doubt anybody thinks Saw and Hostel are the most mature films ever made, or that Manhunt is the most mature game ever made.
