On the one hand I love his books; the original 4 Ender books were great, like you I think Bean's novels are even better, and I really like his Alvin Maker books too. But on the other hand some of the values and beliefs he has expressed in interviews make me so personally averse to him that it hampers my enjoyment of his books. So sometimes I just disregard him and love his books for being great, while at other times I'm just too put off by Orsonn Scott Card to enjoy his books as much as I used to. |
I generally don't pay much attention to writers beyond their name. That probably works for and against me at different times.
