Those are all very obvious predictions.
Imagine for a second that Sony waits till 2013, and once Microsoft releases a new console in 2011, the PS3 will still be there to share all of the multiplats.
Sony will adopt whatever control peripherals Microsoft includes in their next console within the PS3.
The PS3 can be profitable, and as time goes on, with the increasing HD adoption/ developer capabilities the PS3 is becoming more viable as time goes on. Regardless of sales, the PS3 is just now around the stage of time when it should have been released. (if that makes any sense)
Also as Sony waits longer to enter the next gen, the hardware manufacturing costs of the PS4 will drop, and Sony will be able to enter with a much lower loss leading console.
Sony will probably then keep the PS3 as a competitor with microsofts next console, and the PS4 will include something different like 3D or possibly even VR introduced at a lower price than $600.
