That's unfortunate man...only time I've had a system go kerplunk on me was my original ps2 and I remember being in a fit about it until I was able to barter for another from my uncle...my ps3 has only given me a scare when one day I had trouble getting the signal to show before I looked online and found out that holding the on power button for five secs would fix it..spend several hrs freaking out about it but nothing as bad as your problem
