 I think by 2010 and later, more and more games are going to easily go over 30+ GB.. so if PS3 really have 8 - 10 yr lifecycle than i believe it will definitely benefit.. and they will not be in a hurry to put up new console.. I believe this is one thing which will also add on MS to release next gen console due to its limitation by 2011 or atmost 2012...

 

I said eighty gigs not thirty, I believe this generation most developers will not use more than 25gigs for games no PS3 games have used more than a single layer Bluray disk which maxes out at 25 gigs, with the exception of metal gear solid 4 which was a technical mess, (not the game, the coding and all those installs) and I believe metal gear solid 4 could have fit on a 25 gig bluray disk if it was coded properly.
