Did you watch the video? I mean watch it again. Note how he makes a direct right angle turn for no reason other then to get in the cops way.

He's walking along straiht... then makes a sharp turn for little reason and the cop pushes him to try to get him out of the bomb squads way.

I have watched the video plenty of times and all I can see is Ian walking away from the police with his back to the police and his hands in his pockets. Posing no threat at all. Why are you justifying police voilence on an innocent person. The batton strike and push is almost certainly the cause of Ian's death. The policeman should be tried in court like any other citizen would be.

He's walking away very very slowly.... and he's moving in a way to slow down the police on purpose. Also all I saw was a push. Not a baton strike.

Stopping the police from removing bombs by impeding there travel i wouldn't call "doing nothing."

He distinctly cuts very closley infront of them soley for the purpose of slowing them down. It's like when your driving, and don't like the person behind you who is trying to pass, so you move with them blocking there way so they can't pass you.

Except instead of trying to get somewhere... the guy is looking for bombs.

You can clearly see a batton strike at 1:14 in this clip:

If those policemen are so busy looking for bombs, why the hell do they just stand still after pushing him out the way?

Also, I couldn't find footage of him making a direct right angle turn like you claimed he did.

Check the video in this very thread... the one in the OP.

He's walking straight down the road paralel... with the road.

Then when he's pushed he's walking away from the road.

1:47 in the clip you posted.

I'm not convinced about that. Its not like it would be the first protest where the police have abused their powers this year.

But you can actually see it in the video.   Both of them.
