Series creator said they would like to make a sequel to Valkyria Chronicles and it has an anime, so I would say no.

Fixed. SEGA themselves never said they wanted to make a sequal.

And the anime contract may have already been there.

Not confirmed, yes but it has been mentioned.

Sega Interested in Valkyria Chronicles Sequel

Arguably one of the most overlooked PS3 titles in recent memory, Valkyria Chronicles has gone on to spawn an anime series in Japan and it appears that it might even be getting a sequel. In the latest issue of Famitsu, Valkyria Chronicles producer Nonaka Ryutaro expressed great interest in creating a sequel.

Despite dismal sales in America and Europe, the producer is happy with the reception it has received in Japan. With the recent inauguration into the 'Greatest Hits' category and new anime, Ryutaro is quite pleased with franchise. While not confirming that a sequel is in development, he did express that a sequel to Valkyria is something he is very passionate about doing. He doesn't want to stop with just one title.

Let's hope the sequel does happen. Until a sequel is officially announced, we have some great DLC to look forward to.

It is the producer, a guy who had an invested interest in it. It is not SEGA as a company. Just because he wants it does not mean the company has any intention of doing so. But, eventually one will prolly be made, though we don't know which system(s) it will be on.

Edit: Prolly will be multiplatform, though a game like this would fit well on the wii, especially with improved aiming from the wiimote.
