Firstly. The feature would have been nice to have but it doesn't make or break the game. Ps3 users will still have plenty of people to play against as I expect this game to sell very well on the PS3.
Second. The issue may be resolved but I am not holding my breath on it nor does it effect my purchase of the game. I was always going to buy it and never intended to use this particiluar feature even if it was included.
Regarding the less people to play against being a bad thing I don't think it is, especially when taking in the unfair advantage that the PS3 users would face in playing against PC gamers. I don't expect that many PC gamers to play with kb/mouse and would not stand a chance against PC players. I think Epic stating this will give all those who want to play the game against only PS3 gamers a big sigh of relief. I intend to play the game with my controller and did not want to play against high end fanatical PC gamers who are totally out of my skill level in these kind of games.
So yes, it's a pity for those that wanted it but I think they are a minority. From what I have gathered in the threads on NeoGAF and IGN the PS3 gamers who were always getting the game are not bothered by this and will still get the game. Not a total indication but I don't believe PS3 gamers really want to play PC gamers who are clearly on another skill level in games like this from PS3 gamers.
Even if it gets added later on, I doubt many will jump. They may try it out, get pwned, and never go back. It will be as simple as that.

You not destroying anyone even if it was included. In order for this to work they would need to slow down the PC version (which is insanely fast) to match the PS3 speed since there is no way a PS3 can play the game at that speed. Seriously, if they fix this for 360 gamers then power to them in getting pwned because the PC version will piss all over the 360 version as well.
This is a PC game being made on consoles as well, but it is designed and benefits PC gamers first and foremost. Trust me, this is not the kind of game you want to be multi platform gaming with. Everything favors PC right from controls to framerate speed.
