never underestimate european love of racing. And GT has always been THE race simulator. Throw in Japan and America with equal fanaticism of racing and its not beyond belief that GT5 could equal Halo. All i can guarantee is that all my friends will buy it, and that few of my xbox 360 owning friends have Halo. But this seems to be the trend outside of the US (and probably UK also).
