Presumably the accumulated Achievements will move onto the next platform... that alone will drag a lot of users along to the next MS console.

 

I can assure you that not many would be "dragged" if the next-box costs $600 at launch. Some thing trump whatever brand recognition exist. Brandname is only responsible for 20% of customers in a best case scenario especially in our industry. Most people still evaluate everything thats out there each and every time. It would be the actual games who sales are more dependent on "name" than the consoles themselves. However, even in the case of the actual games, fans would still cease to purchase the latest title if it sucks in their opinion.
