People are loyal to games. A new Halo (for the Xbox3) will move lots of systems. Same for a Gears of War or a Forza. (Believe it or not, lots of my friends bought a Xbox360 for Forza).
People know they will have a Halo, Forza, Fable and most likely Gears just on the Xbox720. So they might chose this systems right away. So games are the reason, not the Xbox logo or the MS name on it.
Same with Playstation and God of War, Gran Turismo etc.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
