I assume you're talking about Metal Gear Solid 4 yes? And you were joking right?
First of all the gap would be half a million at most. If the game was Xbox 360 exclusive it would have sold at least 200k on the platform in Japan, at LEAST.
The difference between the "shooter box" Xbox and the Xbox 360 is simply that the Xbox 360 has brilliant games in almost every genre and can sell them. IT has by no means lost it's ability to sell high caliber shooters by the truckload. Especially in NA.
MGS4 was the single most hyped PS3 exclusive with the possible exceptions of Killzone 2 and FFXIII (back in the day). IF that hype had been for the Xbox 360 instead, the game could and would, have sold more. Comfortably.
