he hit him with the baton and pushed him to get him out of the way.  that isnt a beating.  the other cop repeatedly tried to protect himself from multiple "protesters" using progressively more serious means and even tried backing up to provide space between them.   she was the aggressor.

if the officer wanted him to move, he should have asked and if neccesary pushed him gently, there was no need to beat him and shove him to the floor.

the other guy slapped a woman and then hit her with a baton, she only swore at him, dont really see the justification.
