Bah - Spore will flunk. Mark my words ;)

There are 3 obvious contenders (for the US anyway):

 - Pokemon (DS)

 - Halo 3

 - GTA4

I don't think anything else will come close, although Guitar Hero3 will sell a shiteload when it is released (on all platforms simultanously).

Halo & GTA may be restricted based on small install bases, so Pokemon may win. Then again, Halo could easily do 4-5mill at launch alone.
