Word has surfaced today of LightBox Interactive, a new independent game developer, being founded by the now-former staff of Incognito Entertainment, best known as developer of Warhawk and Twisted Metal: Black, as well as being the former home of God of War mastermind David Jaffe. Among those making the transition is Dylan Jobe, game director on Warhawk. The developer's website (via Kotaku) claims this transition was almost a year in the works and that "no jobs were lost in the transition."
It's unclear if this now means that Incognito has been completely abandoned. Whether or not that is the case, PlayStation fans can continue to count on the company's work showing up on their platforms of choice. LightBox is "engaged in a multi-year, multi-title partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment America developing games for the PlayStation family of platforms."
In addition to some new games, I'm hoping this means that support for Warhawk will continue through LightBox if Incognito is indeed no more. W e've contacted both Sony and LightBox to find out the details. We'll pass along word as soon as we know more.
