Trying to pick just five games is hard. Uematsu made some great soundtracks, but so did Mitsuda (you know him - Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, all that wonderful Celtic-flavored stuff), and so did many others. The Mother series has wonderful soundtracks, but they're wonderful in different ways from the soundtracks of Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger or Dragon Quest.
