Its strange that people perceive the cost of the console as the major expense in gaming. I see it as the cost of the games, in the end.
I guess that's why I see my 360 as being the most expensive console I own. I like online games, and that dang XBL Gold fee adds up to a couple missed used titles a year for me on my PS3. The other day I wished I had CoD4 on my PS3, since I let my XBL Gold run out for that reason. *shakes fist at MS*
In any case, used/clearance PS3 games aren't really much more spendy than PS2 games, especially since all the good PS2 games are hard to find or expensive. I see buying a PS2 as a waste of would-be PS3 money, not saving money, unless you dig RPGs (like I do), then you should definately buy a PS2, without question.
