Soviet Russia had powerful computers (for the time) and they managed to put a man in space (before capitalist America). The tools already exist to build a super computer, they just cost a lot money. Without money, the motivated scientists would be able to build super computers at will. |
That was based on rocketry, not computers. Even in the 60's, they were far behind our times.
Also, the only reason we looked into going into space, was because Russia was doing it. During the cold war, we didn't want to be outdone. The russians launched a rocket into space in 1957. The US then realized they needed to do something. We formed NASA, and 12 years later landed on the moon. Something that has yet to be done my any other country.
Thanks to rewards for there successes, the contracting companies that the US hired were able to do some amazing work. We surpassed the Russians like they are standing still. Without Capitalism, it never would have happened.
