In an article about downloadable games, and specifically Gamelot, Lou Kesten of the Associated Press begins with this premise:

The most ambitious game developers focus their efforts on the high-end consoles, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

My question is whether this is fair or foul.

Certainly, the two HD consoles offer the best graphics and processing power. But that does not necessarily convert to profits. It also ignores the potential of PCs, the challenge of making something great out of less resources, and the satisfaction of providing functionality via handhelds.

In other words, I cannot tell if this is Kesten is being a typial gaming journalist with his bias showing through (again) or if he has a point. And since I am a Wii owner, I thought I would pose the question to a broader group.

For background, last year Kesten blasted Nintendo's E3 conference while the AP's general feature writer at the show loved it.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
