Some advice: when going in for a debate don't go in for an offence that plays on emotion (like saying things "you don't think it's right" or "fair"), attack with statistics, facts, and figures. Those are better tools of debate than feelings.
Using those, it's easier to come to a consensus, or, at least, you won't feel as frustrated at the end.
And guys like Mafoo and Kasz are only quite conservative on an economic front, I've found them to be quite/more liberal on social issues.
