I didn't misread your point, I literally repeated what you said. And you say that voice acting, character progression, etc. are the major reasons people play RPGs. I disagree. If those were the main things I was looking for, I'd skip videogames all together and rent a movie. I play RPGs for their gameplay. Level and stat progression, the battle system, and so on. Lost Odyssey has a fixed leveling system so that your characters end up having balanced levels. While this does sound like a good idea, it doesn't work out so well in reality. The battle system is something you'd find in a PS1 RPG, and it holds many of the same cliches too. And you still haven't explained how it's the most underrated game of all time. Sure it might not have sold as much as a Final Fantasy game, but it still sold nearly a million. How is that underrated? Okami and Halo 3 are close in review scores, but look at the difference in sales (not that I have anything against either game, they're both two of my favorite games of all time). Games sell by what the market wants, and this game sold like it a good Final Fantasy clone should. As for the last sentence, allow me to quote you: "It's better than so many other Jrpg's out there, that to me clearly people cant get fanboyism out their heads. ( Not necessarily aimed at you )" So maybe your comment wasn't aimed at me, but you still think negatively of people who disagree with you. |
Not at all. Thats aimed at people who constantly praise every iteration of FF and complaetely talk crap about LO. Now I know this is definately not you. But as a mod you know you have seen it. Not specifically at this site either. All across the net. I am a person who likes the setup of FF games. So straight away loved LO. But it is a more mature game than FF. But it's easy to see someone say in one post they love all Final Fantasy and in another post say LO is boring. I agree that some people genuinely wont like LO. After all we are all individuals. But I guarantee you if FF was on the cover, alot of people spouting crap about it would be praising it. But why comment on my post if you dont take it seriously?
Maybe underrated was the wrong word. I shouldve said, wrongly undermined. :)
