To make a price cut now for the PS3 is like chopping down a tree; one little slice could make the whole thing crash down. Sony is in no position to make any PS3 price cuts at this time. They know it would be risky and cost them more red ink. I would have thought that ever since the PS3 was released, Sony could have reduced the price gradually with each production cost dropping for a component. Just think about it, just a few dollars/currency off the price in a set amount of weeks due to component costs dropping would make the system profitable rather than taking chunks off the price to begin with. They wouldn't be in this situation to begin with
