Quick question for those that think Mario Galaxy is going to suddenly boost Wii sales...

If the Wii pretty much already sells out every month, how are these sales going to increase dramatically? Plus, I'm willing to bet that more people held off on getting a 360 until Halo 3 was released than people holding off on getting a Wii until Galaxy.

Most of Nintendos fan base that would buy a console for one game, already have it, or have been trying to find one. The only way the Wii will see a significant increase in sales would be for Nintendo to increase the supply. I don't see the big N doing that and risk a supply constraint over the holidays.

360 may not win the hardware war, but they are winning the software war. Primarily because 360 owners have more disposable income. They are older, have jobs and most importantly finish a game and move on to another one. From what I am seeing with Wii owners (I shouldn't call them owners really, mainly because they are parents purchasing them for their kids) is that they are content playing the same game over and over again. Hell my kid loves Mario Party 8, he would be happy if that was the only game he had (of course I hate the damn game so I have to keep some variety around for him...Carnival Games...more crap, but he loves it too).

I have yet to find a Wii game that can hold my interest for more than a couple hours. Sure, it is great for family and my kid's friends, but other than that it is pretty meh. My kid even prefers watching me play Blue Dragon to anything on the Wii.

(It probably doesn't help that the Wii is delegated to the 27" tube TV in "the other" room whilst the 360 gets the 51" HDTV)

lol, exactly zero of what you just told is correct.
