Point in example, my brother just got a 42" vizio, 1080p, 5ms, 120hz, at wal-mart for $850 and that included tax...and the tv is absolutely top notch perfect picture quality!! |
The sony will have a much better black level, plus the vizio will have noticable input lag. I don;t think they even have a game mode. 120hz sets also produce more lag. Some people are really sensitive to input lag like me, Others don;t notice it.

I've never even heard of this nor does it make any sense. How would it cause more lag?
|
It is being fed a 60hz signal which is then converted to 120hz... It adds more the processing which increases lag time. I cannot speak for the 2009 line up but theres whole threads about it in the AVS forum. The A650 (120hz) is a good example compared to the A550 (60hz) The A650 was generally 1 frame behind the A550 which is about 13 MS
I have not read anything relating to the 120hz vizo tvs though

13ms lag? THATS A LOT :O
Of course most ppl probably don't notice that much, but I sure can, didn't know that, good info!

No you misread.. 13ms more lag then the a550 ... so like 55-60 ms all together compared to 35 ms. Id say anything over 50 to me is starting to get to much for me guitar hero
