Point in example, my brother just got a 42" vizio, 1080p, 5ms, 120hz, at wal-mart for $850 and that included tax...and the tv is absolutely top notch perfect picture quality!! |
The sony will have a much better black level, plus the vizio will have noticable input lag. I don;t think they even have a game mode. 120hz sets also produce more lag. Some people are really sensitive to input lag like me, Others don;t notice it.

Incorrect, Vizios DO have a gamemode :) Just an FYI
|
It might not be a bad alternative then if your looking for a cheap tv
|
And i'm playing on a vizio right now and there isn't even a tiny bit of lag, the old vizio's had some problems but the new one's are almost comparable to the higher end hd tv's. But the absolute best hd tvs are toshiba hands down...they MADE hd what it is today.
