Dont buy a S series  40 inch a lot of people have been having complaints with that tv

I can agree that it is a problem with the new s5100 series I sell tvs and i had around 3 returns just cause of that problem!

 

I'd suggest the samsung b550 series instead, or if the b530 if u dont mind having an entry level tv. The b550 is much nicer looking and the picutre is great on it.

 

I gotta bounce out my gf is throwing me something, but just take my advice or go look at the sony s5100 series and really make sure you like it over the b530( i suggest the b550).

I never login at this site and as soon as you said s5100 I logged in just specificlly warn you. So look up the tvs in that price range.

 

Sonys havent been that reliable as of lately, just because its a sony doesnt mean much Ive had more complaints with sony than samsung for like 5 months already.

Yes i have a v4100 and it does that. But its not that big of a deal really... it only does it in really dark movie scenes.  But it has superior response time which input lag which is very bad on cheaper tvs....   So don't go cheap

 

If the dimming botheres you, Just get a b550 or b530
