SciFi, you want to give an example of history that follows your description there?

why should i? mafoo didnt?

but as you asked, i was thinking of the US, you have a huge military but charge you poorest civilians for healthcare, my point is, people in glass houses should not throw stones

it appears you don't understand the US healthcare system.

If you are sick, and walk into a hospital, you will be treated. You do not have to pay. If you are poor, you can just not pay the bill. You don't go to jail, all it does is screw up your credit. But your poor, so why do you care about credit?

Right now, the way those people are payed for, is charging people with health insurance more money. My insurance goes up so the hospital can continue to treat those that they know will not pay.

If you think poor people in the US are without healthcare, your wrong. They are just without health insurance. It's against the law in this country for a hospital not to treat the sick.

So... pick another country, because the US does not fit your description.
