Hey, it's a better chance then not picking a god.
A large portion of polytheistic people actually do feel a connection with their particular gods and often times believe in him them because said gods talks to them.
Like literally... and these are people that when studied do not have mental disorders. So take it for whatever you want.

The way you worded this post seems to confirm what I said though. I don't know if that was your aim. But yeah, even if some people feel a connection there are still many people from many religions who feel connected to many individual gods.

As to why you would choose a monotheistic religion vs polytheistic...
my point was there is no such thing... not really.
Odin is the Highfather. and then there are weaker gods under him. This is no different then there being God, and Angels under him. Except the angels are now classfied as angels instead of gods.
