no microsoft didn't fund the english version
they are not the publisher either.
even if they were, tecmo a smaller studio managed to get it multiplatform.
even a ninja gaiden 2 have only on 360 LOGO, never take it seriously ever since.
other than that it's pure speculation, not a official word.
even imported a sale it's sale, who would damage it would be microsoft not namco since they still would get the money-
