Sam - few decades of peace vs. thousands of years of proof to the contrary. Hmm.
ASEAN is climbing up the list for economic power. ASEAN Plus Three rivals the size & scope of the EU.
An NAU would equal the size of the EU as well.
So don't think that it can't be done in other regions
