What im talking about is on the backside of a gamebox it shows the info such as number of players, output resolution etc. Most if not all 360 games say its 1080p output, while the ps3 versions mostly say 720p.
I believe that ms is just showing that the game can obviously be upscaled to play in 1080p, while the ps3 version shows true output only. I have a 1080 tv and ive played numerous ps3 games where it only says 720p.
Do you guys think that some gamers look at these numbers to justify buying it on the 360 over the ps3 because of the so-called higher resolution?

yes, its scaled, both consoles upscale to 1080, but for gamming 720p it's better.
