You just aren't familiar yet, so of course it all sounds the same, and at a quick glance the bad stuff outweighs the good. There are several subgenres within rap, and the genre has a rich history. Right now, most old people hate video games and think they're all trash, and if you want to hate entire genres/mediums without giving them a chance, you'll grow up to be just like those bastards. Also, random laundry lists of hip hop won't really help anybody, and this thread is just turning into a "my hip hop is better than yours" battle. And if you prefer rock over rap, what do you think about classic rock/rap hybrid collaborations, like Run DMC and Aerosmith doing "Walk This Way" (link)? |
Well, I stood stoically for 1:30 mins, but it was more because it was your band and not 'cause I liked it more 
And songs like Walk This Way, well, I don't like them, but I can at least stand them somewhat (I mean, I don't want them to stop as soon as they start, but they aren't something I'd listen to)
