Microsoft - Screen Tearing - View Post

Of course you are going to see it if you slow it way down... but still I have never seen any tearing the likes of these claims in Gears of War or any 360 game. Sure the tearing could be happening at the top and be unnoticed, but I never see the tearing that you keep finding. Is it possible that these are chance events and only happen given precise circumstances? Ie. character placement, on screen action, etc.

I agree it is more pronounced in slow motion, but if their stats of 20%-50% torn frames is true, I'm hardly surprised it is somehow bothering me. In most games it is just a minor distraction, but in some I would frankly take them at a lower rez, in SD, or even on a last gen system. Perfect Dark, and Blazing Angels are pretty much ruined because of it. It kinda killed God of War 2 for me as well. What is the point of tip top graphics if the image is gonna ripped in half? Come on devs turn the damn vsync on!

Edit:

Just saw it in RE5 as well, though thankfully it only seems noticable in the cutscenes which I can deal with.
