I'm sorry, but this is prolly what is one of the many things that is wrong with Rap these days. I listened to those songs you just posted. It is the same old shit over and over again...clothes, cars, money, guns as usual (surprisingly no hoes...). It never changes...
And yes, M.I.A. is NOT rap...it is more like world music with electro. Jurassic 5 is officially dead with Wu-Tang Clan. Nowadays, Rap is a lost genre with meaningless lyrics (not unrecognizable, just meaningless). It has no place in today's music industry and is being replaced with Rap mixed in with stupid dances from Soulja Boy.
First Rap killed Hip Hop groups like A Tribe Called Quest and now it is being killed by silly wannabe "Gangsta" rappers and the Superman dance. What a world we live in...
