Eh. It depends who has home court. Then they get the rules of their universe, which are largely predicated on them being practically unbeatable.

If Kratos was fighting Mario in Mario Galaxy, he would only get to attack in specific sequences, and during the first part of each sequence, he would be vulnerable to a simple spin attack or a bop on the head with a coconut, after which he could unleash a different attack during which he is not vulnerable. And Mario can't bleed or be torn apart, but just loses one third of his health with each hit. Kratos is pretty powerful, so he'd probably take at least 5 spin moves before he fell over and disappeared in a little poof of smoke and dust. Kratos would also be required to be adorable during the whole thing.

"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
