We knew SSD capacity would increase over time, but I didn't expect it so soon.

Indeed I think this 512GB SSD from Super Talent (on sale for $1500) now exceeds the real-world density of hard drives as well as the usual advantages of higher random read and write speeds, lower power use and no moving parts. With such capacities available it is only a matter of time before SSDs that match the top-end (1TB) of HDDs in terms of capacity appear and fall to parity in pricing.

Well then I will have to laugh at you. I expect 1TB SSDs by the end of next year.

Also Seagate announced 2TB HDDS. 500GBs per platter. 4 platters total.

Expect 1TB SSDs a lot sooner then that  :P

Acer already announced (2 months ago~) 1TB 2.5" SSD's with their Lamborghini Laptops

and

Expect Seagates 2TB HDD's sooner then that too :D

They secretly announced their 2TB HDD's are coming in a month (May)

and

OCZ expects to have 4TB SSD PCI-Slot drives by the end of the year :D

If interested I can provide ya with links, just thought Id throw that out there for those that didn't know :)
