Ask yourself "If new hardcore games were coming out on the N64, would I buy myself a new N64 to play them?" Now use the GameCube in place of the N64. Now the Wii. Now the PS360.  Disregard price, when asking yourself that question.

Do you think hardcore gamers are going to tend toward owning a weaker system or a stronger one? Toward playing classics from their youth, or new games?

The Wii has a demographics slant toward casual titles, and its in no way a minor one. The "if you build it, they will come" argument is well-wishing, when the Wii doesn't even own 50%, let alone 50% of the demographics for many genres.

What do you think would happen if a casual title like Carnival Games came out on the PS360?  Would it sell millions?  If the publishers build it, will they come?

@ BOLD: To your question I say if I'm a GAMER, I'd probably own all 3 consoles already as it's EXLCUSIVES that drives gamers. I wouldn't want to miss out on owning, one console versus the other if one console has GREAT exclusives that I want. With the way the current system is set up now, a PS3/Wii would be the better choice versus owning all 3 as the 360, IMO, isn't securing enough MUST PLAY exlcusives.

@ RED: The Wii has a broad demographic, if you look at the list of the millions sellers you will notice the WIDE range of games sold. This is where the other two WANT to be. This is the reason why they are changing their focus to INCLUDE the demographic that would purchase Carnival Games, cause that would mean they are the same demo that would purchase Lips, or Singstar, or the Eyepet.

...Now ask yourself this question, as a BUSINESSMAN looking to profit wouldn't you want to have your best quality product in the hands of as many ppl as possible?
