"This was an understatement if anything, as the FFXIII bombshell was one of the biggest announcements in all of gaming history."

...really?

 Really.

the game is not coming out in japan, and it gets more than half of its sales from there.

Again...

Really?

Really.

Despite the fact that I think it's not that big a deal, it was a bombshell.  Because it was something completely unexpected.  A new game announced?  Ok, expected.  A new franchise announced?  Cool, maybe not expected, but nothing out of the ordinary.  A game from an established franchise announced for your competitors platform that has previously been touted as exclusive, releasing same day in the two biggest gaming territories (despite sales of FF being stronger in Japan) on your console?  A definite bombshell.

But I can see why some people don't really care.  Like most reasonable PS3 owners.

it was a bombshell to the fanboys, EVERYONE was shocked, but now, if you look at it. i dont see a huge deal out of it. The game wasnt like going to give ps3 an extra 1 or 2 million hardware sales. maybe in japan but definately not in the west.
