I think all of it is a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Many 3rd parties did not bet on Wii on the onset of this Gen.

Nintendo released major titles during the 1st year (365 days).

Third parties saw that the Nintendo titles released sold better so they held off and hoped that 360 and PS3 would do better.

Third Parties release some overly hype HD game that cost then "trillions" to make when it is released on 360 and PS3 it does not do as well as they hoped OR in the pracess of making a game they run into money problem SO- in order to make money they make ports OR a quick cheap game to Wii that is now doing great.

Consumers try out the rushed games and then find that those games do not make them feel lke they felt when they played Nintendo games.

3rd parties complain.

Here is my point if a company consistently turns out good products I am more likely to try their products, even if it is something I don't normally use. Just like people with Apple.

They have to realize that the "new" people Nintendo are bringing to gaming don't know who they are. They know who Nintendo is because of Wii Sports and because their name is on the system. So why do they think that their rushed/ ports/ crap ware is not going to leave them with a bad name (even if they release a great game later).

I think they need to understand the market better. Gaming is more and more common and most people are not like us, they don't read gaming mags. or sites they just go by Word of Mouth or Box Art.

( On the flip side there are Nintendo fans who do not play anything but Nintendo but Nintendo has proven itself. And they have proven many times that they can almost single-handedly keep a system breathing (GC, N64). )

At any rate they now have a window to make games Nintendo has purposely stopped releasing games in order to give the 3rders a chance (Will they take it?)
