A police officer today was found guilty of killing a young girl by dangerous driving.  The officer had accelerated to 94mph (151km/h) in a 30mph zone before he hitting the girl in Newcastle, England in May of 2008.   But the car's siren and lights had not been activated at the time.

It shows a video of the police car speeding just before hitting the girl.  But what gets me is that he didn't even have his lights or siren on and if he did the girl would not of walked across the road and she would be alive today.

He has been remand to prison (he will be sentence later )and will lose his police job and being a cop inside will not go down well for him.

He was reacting to  the automatic number plate recognition system when a car passed him,  indicating it could potentially be linked to a crime, no tax, no insurance etc... but the worst part is that the car turned out to be clean.

I feel really sorry for the girls family and the guilty verdict will not heal they pain.
