I'm assuming you're talking about the laptop battery situation. You’re assuming Sony didn’t perform the proper quality control measures on purpose and willfully sold the batteries anyway.
Lik-Sang - That company was sued by Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo for copyright infringement.
Root Kit - That was Sony BMG. So it's not really in the context of reasons for hating the video game division.
The "Play Station" was a joint venture between Nintendo and Sony that Nintendo backed out of. I couldn't find any information on Nintendo wholly owning the "Play Station" trademark, nor could I find any information on Nintendo sueing Sony over this.
Immersion Lawsuit - Patent infringement lawsuits occur all the time. It's almost impossible to avoid being sued by some small technology company that holds and long list of unused and obscure patents. It's also difficult to determine if you've crossed the line onto someone patent with your own version of the technology.
