I don't think that anyone is saying that homebrew itself is a negative - I'm sure it can be used for all kinds of fun, legitimate reasons.

But you pretty clearly use it in the interest of piracy, which would be the problem.

if you have an old psp (firmware 1.0 or 1.5) you dont need custom firmware to play any pirated games, however yes if most of the time homebrew is used to pirate games, and i can understand why some are against that. homebrew does have some other uses though, not all of it goes towards pirating.
