They cost around $130 a year ago and the 9800gt's have taken their place.

For example, here is an EVGA 9800gt 512mb video card with a factory overclock for $114.99 after $5 instant savings and $20 rebate.

 

Yeah, i knew they stopped making 8800gt's, but i guess you could still find them somewhere. That 9800gt for that price is pretty good. Not much over budget, and will play most new games fine. My 8800gt runs crysis on medium no worries.
