For the people saying it's hypocrisy for the US not to want North Korea, Iran, etc., from getting nuclear weapons...
What would you suggest?
The concern is that, if everyone gets the bomb, it greatly increases the chance that some nutjob or several will fire off a nuke. (Maybe as an official governmental action, maybe through some terrorist/private front.) Is your argument that the world would be a better place if every nation had the big red button?
By the way, outside of like North Korea, Iran, Vietnam and maybe Libya... what major country wants those countries to become nuclear powers? I mean, everyone seems to be treating this as though it were the United States alone holding these "rogue" nations back... but isn't it actually a United Nations thing? Aren't all of the major European and Asian powers, for instance, solidly on board with trying to keep the weapons cabinet locked?
Or have the UK, France, India, China, etc., all agreed to immediately disarm, just as soon as the US agrees to it, and I just haven't heard?
