"the more sanctions that get put on us the more i can blame it on outsiders and the more money i can funnel towards weapons technology, awesome stuff for me and my chronies and the more i can consolidate my power base."
Maybe he'll try and pull a hitler too and cause as much damage as possible to other countries and his own once his health starts to fade just so he'll be remembered.
