It's likely that it could've looked much better if they didn't include those, but this is why Epic has much more respect than me than GG ever will - they didn't sacrifice gameplay in favor of visuals. You do know that has very little to do with the overall graphics right? In most games the spiltscreen graphics aren't as good as single player. Pop-in increases, and draw distances decrease to keep the game running smoothly. Some effects and textures may not look as good as single player as well.
